Paying for labs until your deductible is met?
If your insurance has a deductible, labs ordered outside your annual physical are often billed to you in full, and you don’t see the price until weeks later. Typical costs for a basic panel (CBC, CMP, cholesterol, A1C, TSH, vitamin D, ferritin):
| Hospital outpatient lab, deductible not met | $1,250+ |
| In-network lab, deductible not met (insurance rate) | $300–$800 |
| Here: price shown up front, more tests included, and every result explained | From $246.73 |
Estimates based on published national price data (Healthcare Bluebook, FAIR Health and CMS lab fee data). Your actual costs depend on your plan and where you test. Preventive labs at an annual physical are often covered.
Common questions
Do I need to fast?
Most panels need an 8–12 hour fast (water is fine). Your order instructions will tell you. Morning draws are best, especially for cortisol and testosterone.
Where do I get my blood drawn?
After you order, you’ll get instructions to visit a lab draw site near you. Results come back to me.
How long do results take?
Usually a few days to about a week.
Does insurance cover this?
Panels are self-pay, and most people can use an HSA or FSA. If your insurance has a deductible, labs ordered outside your annual physical are often billed to you anyway, usually without the price shown up front. Here you know the cost before you order.
What happens after my results come in?
You get a full color-coded report and personalized nutrition plan through the Lab Analyzer. If you’d like me to go through it with you, book a 30-minute Lab Review Visit.
Who can order?
Adults 18 and older in eligible states. Prices may change and are confirmed at checkout.
Does this replace my doctor?
No. This is educational and nutrition-focused. Anything that needs medical attention is flagged so you can take it to your primary care provider.
Lab testing is for educational and nutritional guidance and does not diagnose, treat or cure disease. Available to adults 18+ in eligible states. Prices may change and are confirmed at checkout. Dr. Kennington may earn income from lab and supplement sales through his online dispensary.
